The Headless G.M. Gets It Done


Maybe the boys aren't leaving town to join Byrnes(right) after all...

Sources: Red Sox, Marlins have tentative deal
This move by Hoyer/Cherington/Woodfork/Shipley...and of course Lucchino, shows a committment to winning now, rather than cutting payroll as has been rumored. LL bashing aside, We have to give credit where credit's due. This deal makes it more than likely that the new G.M. is Hoyer or Cherington, as the foursome is obviously able to get things done, and next season's blueprint is likely already in place.
