HOW THE MIGHTY HAVE FALLEN...WHILE THE ONCE MEEK HAVE INHERITED THE EARTH
William "The Refrigerator" Perry, who humiliated our New England Patriots in the Raymond Berry days by bumbling over our defensive line for a T.D., has moved on to bigger challenges:
He will battle the world's top speed-eaters on Tuesday in a cake-eating contest. Perry, first went pro on the food gorging circuit in 2003, debuting in speed-eating during Nathan's Famous hot dog-eating contest. He is doing this for the cake, and for the dough; the contest is a publicity stunt for a hotel rewards program. Although he weighs at least 200 pounds more than 132-pound phenom Takeru Kobayashi, Perry was no match for the world-record holder, who finished with a winning total of 44½ hot dogs eaten in 12 minutes.
Perry ate only four hotdogs and buns and stopped halfway throughout the contest.
