DIE-ERIA:
Edgar Is Officially Killing Red Sox Nation

Theo Epstein, Red Sox fans have that queasy feeling that starts down below...A smattering of boos tonight...Things are about to explode and get very messy for the Red Sox shortstop if this continues.

Edgar gets "the runs" after bumping an umpire arguing about a pitch that definitely was a strike.

E-6:
2 more errors tonight brings the total to 8 Errors on the season-(save for quite a few generous scoring decisions that would easily put him in double digits)
- for the Anti-O.C.
This is not hindsight; it made zero sense to sign a shortstop to a $10 million a year longterm deal when the strength of the Red Sox system is currently at shortstop. Pedroia and Hanley Ramirez are both close...If they wanted more than a 1-year stopgap, why overhaul a position of strength? Orlando Cabrera had proven that he could handle Boston and would have signed for a 3 year deal for $2-3 million less annually. Maybe something else was going on with the O.C. in addition to his rumored nasty treatment of the "little people." Edgar has hit rock bottom...he will never be worth the $10 million salary that the Sox gave him, but let's hope that he at least regains a semblance of the steady, well rounded shortstop persona that he once embodied in the National League.

THAT'S SPELLED S-O-X
In the four major US professional sports, (Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Hockey), there are only seven teams whose nicknames do not end with an "S:" Basketball: The Miami Heat, The Utah Jazz, The Orlando Magic. Baseball: The Boston Red Sox, The Chicago White Sox. Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche, The Tampa Bay Lightning. Football: None.
