SAY IT AIN'T SO, NOMAH!! DID NOMAR REALLY WANT TO PLAY FOR THE YANKEES??
Yes, this is the same Yankee Rump swap George King that voted for Jeter over Pedro for MVP in 1999, stating that no pitcher should ever be voted MVP. Lots of credibility when it comes to piling on the Red Sox.
...King's statement that a pitcher should not be allowed to win the MVP Award, despite voting for two pitchers last year, forces one to wonder whether he was "punishing" Pedro Martinez for embarrassing his Yankees at Yankee Stadium in September and again at Fenway Park in the 1999 ALCS...

What would make Nomar a bigger villain to Red Sox fans than playing for the Yankees? Hey George, Is it actually possible that Arn Tellem was actually using the alimighty YANKEES to drive up offers with the Cubs and Angels? Inconceiveable. No one would diss the Yanks. It is every former Sox icon's dream to slap his remaining loyal fans in the face. Suicide in this region. And as we know, Nomar does care about his legacy, and what the fans think of him. (The media is another story for another day). If true, then Lucchino must have eaten his firstborn. THE YANKEE DYNASTY IS DEAD!! Welcome back to the Fred Stanley, Dale Berra era.

``I thought that was pretty funny, he's not going to be changing any positions,'' Merloni said.
Merloni was referring to a New York Daily News story yesterday in which an unidentified friend of Garciaparra said, in part, ``He could play either (position) and he'd be happy to play either one.''
Merloni said he spoke to Garciaparra over the weekend, before Garciaparra left for a month-long vacation to Europe on Tuesday.
