12/02/04-A Hub source reports that the Sox and A's have held preliminary trade talks, and have discussed swapping Trot Nixon and prospects for Hudson. Hudson has made it clear to Billy Beane that he is unlikely to re-sign with the A's, so he is now the most likely of the big three to be dealt. The Sox would only make such a deal if they were able to work out a longterm deal with Hudson prior to the trade, like was worked out with Curt Schilling. -Nomarfan2004
