BostonHerald.com - Manny's okay all that stands in his way....
More confirmation on the 2 year extension request reported here at New England Sports Hub yesterday...Mainstream media outlets are now giving this report credence.
Manny's okay all that stands in his way To Orioles, Miguel Tejada To Boston....:
"As reported on an Orioles fan site, the Orioles and Red Sox have agreed on a trade that would send Clement and Manny to the Orioles for Miguel Tejada. It is unclear how much money would need to be thrown in for the deal to take place, but all that is in the way is Manny Ramirez waiving his no-trade clause. But that is where it gets fuzzy, as Manny wants a 2 yr extension on his contract, which would make his contract a 5 yr one. Now he would lose his 10-5 status if he were traded and the likelihood is that Manny would be moved to NYM for a package including Milledge, Heilman and Seo. I posted the site that reported this first, and after rummaging through their site for a few hours, it was revealed that the guy who broke the information has a 'friend' in the front office of the orioles. This guy has reported oriole news for the past 4 years prior to its being released to the public. Also, Fox sports radio has apparently picked up on the rumor as well, as multiple people on the mlb.com orioles talkback site have reported (i dont get fox sports in my house, only through XM). Many rumor sites are not updating today, so finding tidbits is hard for today (maybe this is the plan??). But it looks as if Manny's ok is all that is in the way of him moving and Miggy coming to Boston.
Once again, I am going off rumor and innuendo, but this looks like it is the real deal...."
